In the areas of Space and Atmospheric Sciences, remote sensing of environment with applications to coastal pollution satellite image processing, spectral processing and analysis of environmental phenomena, monitoring and assessment of air pollution. Environmental Management Systems, Environmental vulnerability and adaptation to climate change impacts, Strategic and Project Impact and Risk Assessment (EIA), Site selection and impact assessment of landfills. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and applications for site selection and environmental impact assessments of projects

Honoraria:
1. Awarded University of Alexandria Appreciation Prize, 2005
2. Awarded the Prize of the Council of Ministers of Environment of the Arab States (1999) on Integrated Coastal Zone Management.
3. Awarded Presidential Medal of Arts and Sciences, of the First Class, 1985.
4. Incentive State Award in Physics, 1983 Egyptian Academy of Sciences and Technology for research on Remote Sensing.
5. University of Alexandria Award in Physics (Silver Medal, 1976)
